Mangrove Channel to Rock Harbour, Utila, Honduras
Come explore the interior of the island of Utila. The Oyster Bed Lagoon which lies next to Chepa's Beach leads to a channel that connects both sides of the island, leading out to Rock Harbour.
The best way to explore is with a kayak. The journey lasts 45 minutes, and throughout it not only will you be able to enjoy the beauty of the mangroves, but you will also be witness to the many species of iguanas, birds, fish and other reptiles that call Utila their home.
Actions taken to promote environmental or social sustainability
This is an eco-tour, during which you can also help to clean up the mangroves and beach as you go. You can also ask for a special guide so they can help explain more about the species you will encounter and about the ecosystems of the mangroves.
