Kanahau URCF is a research facility on the north side of the island of Utila, Honduras. We are primarily biology based but welcome researchers, volunteers and students from all study areas to join us.The facility is located about three-kilometers (two-miles) outside the only town on the island. It is surrounded by tropical broad leaf forest, just a few hundred feet from the Caribbean Sea and situated at the bottom of 'Pumpkin Hill' which affords unparalleled views of this small island.

We offer full board accommodation for up to 16 people in shared rooms. We also offer a camping option for up to 20 people. Pricing includes accommodation, three meals a day and participation in Kanahau's research projects.

Kanahau offers guided tours to visitors who would like to get to know more about the island's wildlife. Tours include activities like birdwatching, hiking in the mangroves and hardwood forests, fresh water cave exploring and kayaking. There are also options to join the researchers in their fieldwork and see the island through a biologists eyes.
