Upachaya is a great place to get away from it all. The setting is picture perfect. You will go home with fond memories and want to return again and again.

Upachaya is such a lovely private eco retreat, natural, nourishing food, such a relaxing atmosphere from the hosts, snorkelling is just divine.......well worth experiencing this unique resort on Roatan, one of the bay islands off the coast of Honduras!

Being the only concierge on Roatan it is important for me to know who has and does what. I have had the pleasure of staying at Upachaya and experiencing this wonderful resort. I have also sent clients on their snorkeling tour and this is definitely an enjoyable place for peacefulness and tranquility They take excellent care of each and every guest and their needs. the setting is beautiful, the food excellent and the service personal.

Barb is a friendly host who makes you feel welcome and at ease. Upachaya is perfect for those who want to get away from the crowds for a snorkel in pristine waters or for an extended stay in a tropical setting. Meals are fabulous- healthy and delicious! Variety of activities to add to your experience: yoga, pilates, meditation, snorkeling, bird watching, kayaking, or relaxing by the pool - all in a quiet idyllic setting.

As soon as I stepped onto the property I felt tension lift from my shoulders. The peaceful setting, rustic elegance of the lodge and deliciously healthy meals are the frosting on this beautiful hideaway.

Upachaya boasts a wide array of tropical island foliage and is nestled in a natural Mangrove Harbour for a peaceful yet invigorating experience. The rooms are comfortable, the pool stunning and the water activities are the best since the area Upachaya is in has a largely unexplored and unspoiled section of Roatan's reef system. I highly recommend Upachaya for anyone traveling to the Bay Islands.

A BEAUTIFUL RESORT AND UNDOUBTLY THE BEST DIVING IN THE WORLD. A LOT OF EFFORT WENT INTO THIS RESORT TO MAKE IN A #1 IN OUR TRAVELS.

RICK RUTHERFORD, 7/3/2012

This is a prime example of what every resort in Roatan should be doing to maintain an eco-friendly environment on its premises. Great job and hope all others will do changes to make the Roatan the ultimate Geotourist destination in Central America. Everyone needs to get involved and resort guests need to taken through a thorough orientation on how to care and respect this destination's natural beauty. Resorts are to do no destruction and minimum impact on the trees, land, and waterfronts at their locations.

I've visited this resort on different occasions and always been impressed and pleased. Her smile alone makes the trip worthwhile. Barbara uses fruits and nuts of all kinds right from her own property to make the most delious meals. The classes and workshops there are energizing and educational. I love the fresh smells of the vegetation and sea life. The pool glorious and so relaxing. She and her staff make the tours fun and exciting. There is so much to do on the island. This is one of the worlds best kept secrets. Definitely a place to visit as a group or on your own.
