Guanaja's Conch Festival is a day commemorating the discovery of our island by Christopher Columbus on July 30, 1502, which he named Isla de Pinos, Island of Pines. This annual event is held on the last week of July and certifies Guanaja as one of the great historic routes of Columbus on his 4th and last voyage.
